Financial Models & FP&A

A financial model
that survives diligence

Driver-based, 3-statement, built from your actuals. Every assumption labeled, so the model answers questions in the room.

Fixed fee | 2 revision rounds included

Selected clients across the US, GCC and Europe

Case studies

2 files, and the questions they had to answer

A group raise where every lender wanted its own model, and a pre-seed round where the revenue was not the payment.

What you get

The model, the forecast, and the cadence

Financial modeling and FP&A are 2 different jobs. A model is a one-time build. FP&A is what keeps it true. Most companies need the first and then discover they needed the second.

The model

  • 3 statements that tie, monthly across 5 years
  • Revenue built from drivers
  • Headcount and payroll schedule by role and start date
  • Working capital, deferred revenue and collections timing
  • Debt, equity and dilution waterfall
  • Error checks so a broken link cannot hide

Forecast and scenarios

  • Base, downside and upside on one switch
  • Sensitivity on the 3 or 4 drivers that actually move the outcome
  • 13-week rolling cashflow for the near view
  • Hiring plan tied to the plan it is funding
  • Break-even, burn and runway stated as dates

FP&A on a cadence

  • Actuals loaded against plan every month
  • Variance explained in words, with the driver named
  • KPI and cohort tracking that matches the model
  • Board reporting pack generated
  • Rolling re-forecast as the year moves
Inside the file

What is in every model, and what is built to order

The base is fixed so the work is comparable between engagements. The rest depends on how your revenue actually behaves.

Every model includes
An assumption logEvery input on one sheet, labeled, dated and pointed at its source.
Statements that tieBalance sheet balances, cash reconciles, and a check row proves it on every column.
One scenario switchBase, downside and upside from a single cell, with no duplicated tabs to fall out of sync.
Charts wired to outputsBoard charts read from the model, so a changed assumption updates the deck.
Built to order
Cohort and retention buildFor subscription and marketplace revenue where churn drives the outcome.
Multi-entity consolidationWhere a group structure, intercompany or multi-currency sits underneath.
Unit economicsBy SKU, payer, route or contract, when the average hides the answer.
Covenant and lender testsWhere debt terms need to be proven month by month.
Build

14 business days, 4 stages

The clock starts when the deposit and the questionnaire arrive.

4 steps
  1. Days 1 to 2
    01
    Intake

    Discovery

One working call and a concise questionnaire. We take your actuals, your pricing and how revenue is really earned.

  2. Days 3 to 8
    02
    Rebuild

    Build

The model is built bottom-up from those drivers, with the assumption log written as we go rather than after.

  3. Days 9 to 11
    03

    Review

We walk you through it line by line, stress the assumptions you are least sure of, and take the first revision round.

  4. Days 12 to 14
    04

    Handover

Second revision, scenario checks, and a recorded walkthrough so whoever presents it can answer for it.

FP&A resourcing

Keep the model true, month after month

A model is only useful while it still matches the bank statement.

FP&A resource | from $35 an hour, less on a bigger block
Block 1

Keep it current

$1,400/ month
40 hours a month at $35 / hr

For a model that needs to stay honest: actuals loaded, drivers updated, the pack reissued on the same day each month.

Block 2Most common

Plan and report

$2,660/ month
80 hours a month at $33.25 / hr, 5% below list

The updates plus the analysis around them: variance against plan, a reforecast when something moves, and the ad hoc question that arrives on a Thursday.

Block 3

Full cycle

$5,040/ month
160 hours a month at $31.50 / hr, 10% below list

A full-time equivalent analyst on your account, without the hire, the payroll or the ramp. For companies running a real planning cycle.

These are the published figures, fixed in writing before work begins. Every other fee we charge sits on one page.

Compare with every other fee

List rate $35 an hour, 5% off Block 2 and 10% off Block 3. Agreed monthly, resizable on 30 days notice. Unused hours do not carry forward.

Why a vetted resource

You are hiring the bench behind them

A freelance analyst gives you hours. Ours gives you hours a partner has already reviewed.

01
Reviewed

A partner signs it off

Nothing reaches you unreviewed.

02
Background

Chartered accountants

Trained in audit and reporting.

03
Vetted

Tested on a real build

We hire perhaps 1 in 20 who apply.

04
Covered

No single point of failure

The bench covers illness, holiday and deadlines.

Every file follows the same standards as our partner-built models: drivers rather than hardcoded cells, a labeled assumption log, a source for every input.

Printed model pages, marked up in pencil
On the desk

Every model is read on paper before it ships

Printed, marked in pencil and tied back to the bank. Errors that survive a screen rarely survive paper.

Pricing

A fixed fee for the build, a retainer for the cadence

The model is quoted as one figure before any work begins, and we carry the risk of it taking longer than expected.

Financial model | fixed fee, agreed in writing
Scope 1

Early stage

$1,250fixed

One entity, one revenue line, a single currency. The model a pre-seed or seed raise is actually asked for.

  • 3 statements, monthly to 60 months
  • Driver sheet you can change yourself
  • Cap table and simple funding rounds
  • One revision round after handover
Scope 2Most common

Raise ready

$1,450fixed

Several revenue lines or a subscription base with churn, built to survive a diligence conversation rather than a first look.

  • Everything in Scope 1
  • Cohort or contract-level revenue build
  • Scenario switch and sensitivity table
  • Investor summary tab
  • 2 revision rounds
Scope 3

Complex

On quoteonce we have seen the file

Multiple entities, multi-currency, payer or reimbursement timing, project finance or a roll-up. Quoted once we have seen the structure.

  • Everything in Scope 2
  • Consolidation across entities
  • Debt schedules and covenant tests
  • Working capital modeled by payer
  • Revisions through the raise

Fees are quoted in USD and fixed before work begins. We prepare the file your auditor asks for. We do not audit or advise on securities. Tax filing is a separate service, signed by a licensed CPA partner.

Questions

Asked before every build

Excel or Google Sheets?

Either, and we build to whichever your investors and your team actually use. The logic is identical; only the file format changes.

What do you need from us to start?

Your actuals, your pricing, and one call. The questionnaire takes about 30 minutes and the clock starts when it comes back.

Can we edit the model ourselves?

Yes. It is your file, unlocked, with the assumption sheet as the only place you need to type. The walkthrough recording covers how.

What if our revenue model changes?

Driver-based models absorb that. Changing price, mix or ramp is an input change rather than a rebuild, which is the whole reason to build this way.

Do you do the fundraising deck too?

Yes, and the numbers in it come from this model rather than being retyped. That is the point of commissioning both from one team.

How many revisions are included?

2 rounds, inside the 14 days. Further changes after handover are quoted before we touch anything.

How much of our team’s time will this take?

About 3 hours in total: a 30-minute questionnaire, one working call, and a review of the draft. Assembling it is our job.

What happens when the build ends?

You keep the file, unlocked, with the assumption sheet and the walkthrough recording. No license, no subscription, nothing switches off when we stop.

Will the model make our forecast come true?

No. A model makes your assumptions explicit and their consequences arithmetic. It cannot tell you whether the market will agree with you, and we will not pretend otherwise.

Sensitivity surface

Every driver, and what it moves

The model is built so a single assumption can be moved and the whole outcome re-reads. Nothing is hard-coded and nothing is plugged.
